Shaun Tan - 'THE ARRIVAL'

On Friday the 12th of March the Muritai senior school went to see the Arrival as a play at the Opera house in Wellington. The Arrival is based on The book by an Austrilan author Shaun Tan

In the play you could see how hard and intense it must be for an immigrant to walk into a completely forien country where every single thing is different. Just imagine going to get some groceries but there was no such thing as an apple and everything was in a different language.

There were a mixture of actors and a lot of brilliant props. It was amazing how they could move the props in the most petite and aggressive way. The play was a combernation
of acting, dancing and miming. The music made it so dramatic. The arrival with out music would be so dull and boring. It gave it that extra vibe and emotion.

I recommend The Arrival to anyone who likes good theater. I can guarantee that anyone who goes to the Arrival will come out with one mammoth smile on their face and say "money well spent". The Arrival is a deeply powerful piece of theater and I am sure that it will inspire you in so many ways.
